Welcome to 2010
Hard to believe it’s 2010 — this marks my 13th year of providing wedding photography services here on the West Coast. It’s been a fabulous 12 years so far, shooting almost 1,000 weddings on the beaches and in the rainforest, from eloping couples to huge elaborate affairs, for many years with medium format film cameras and now with digital.
One of the main differences between weddings back in Vancouver (where I started) and here is that couples choosing to exchange vows here in Tofino or Ucluelet are not deterred by weather – I’ve learned to balance an umbrella along with all the camera gear. Couples and bridal parties are also a lot more mobile here; they’d rather run down the beach than stand in a line — way more fun to photograph when everyone is having fun!
I look forward to another year of being part of the most special day in couples’ lives — their wedding day — and here’s hoping the weather gods are kind in 2010!
